Events

  • Local Colors Festival - Saturday, May 16, 2009 - a free, family-friendly, festive day of celebrating, sharing, and learning through music, arts, crafts, parade, food, attire, language and goodwill.  The day festival includes the Parade of Nations and International Fashion Show.
  • Latino Festival - Local Colors is proud to sponsor the Latino Festival of music, dance, food, and other activities celebrating the Latino Community of the Roanoke Valley and surrounding region. This event is held in October of each year at Elmwood Park, downtown Roanoke.
  • Festival of Lights - Festival displaying how different religions celebrate holidays.  Entertaining and informative demonstration and performances.
  • Taste of Culture - Monthly festival featuring one country at a time. Includes exhibits, entertainment, and food.
  • International Mini Fairs & Exhibits
  • Christmas Around the World - performances and narrations by children of various countries. A real musical delight!
  • Local Colors International Choir - during the holiday season singing songs in different languages, wearing native attire
  • International Fashion Show - This colorful and exotic show is offered by various cultures in other venues in addition to the annual day festival
